Marzio Conti was the Music Director of Oviedo Filarmonia since 2011 till 2019.

He began his career as flautist debuting at the Salzburg Festival with  “I Solisti Veneti” at the age of twenty years. He has been considered internationally as one of the leaders of  flute playing of his generation, playing, recording, and teaching for major institutions at the international level.

He decided to leave the Flute concert activity in the mid-nineties to devote himself to conducting.

A pupil of Piero Bellugi, Marzio Conti immediately carried out positions of chief conductor in various Italian and foreign orchestras, his activity constantly allowing him to direct orchestras and theaters around the world, ranging from opera to symphonic repertoire. Besides, he devoted himself to prestigious collaborations with leading ballet companies.

he recorded numerous titles for some of the major international record labels.

Marzio Conti has often taken part in worldwide television and radio programs, in addition to his stage activity in the traditional symphonic and opera repertoire, contemporary music.

He recently conducted Rigoletto at the Teatro del Bicentenario in Mexico and Don Pasquale Opera Oviedo and Macbeth at the Staatsoper in Saarbrücken a great critics and audiences acclaim.
