Selcuk Cara  - Bass 
 
Selcuk Cara, born in Frankfurt am Main, studied philosophy with Jürgen Habermas before discovering his passion for opera. 
Eike Wilm Schulte assisted his path to a diploma and master-classes with Francisco Araiza and Siegfried Jerusalem deepened his knowledge. 
Charles Spencer laid the foundation for his understanding of recitals. Richard Trimborn in Munich is his advisor and piano partner when studying the German-Fach (Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss, for example). 
 
Selcuk Cara has appeared frequently in Germany and abroad. 
 
Among the more prominent venues are: Philharmonie Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Philharmonie Köln, Opera Köln, Beethovenfest Bonn, Opera Bonn, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Teatro Comunale di 
Bologna, Bregenzer Seefestspiele, Festspielhaus Bregenz, Wiener Festwochen, Theater an der Wien. 
 
On stage his producers include: Michael Hampe, Andreas Homoki, Günther Krämer, Torsten Fischer, Werner Schroeter, Katharina Thalbach, Stefan Ruzowitzky, Uwe Eric Laufenberg und Frank Castorf. 
 
He has sung under the baton of: Bertrand de Billy, Markus Stenz, Roman Kofman, Gustav Kuhn, Erich Wächter, Wayne Marshall, William Lacey, Rudolfo Bonucci, Fabrice Bollon, Toshiyuki Kamioka. 
 
Selcuk Cara´s wide repertoire includes roles such as: Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Leporello / Komtur (Don Giovanni), Banco (Macbeth), Walter (Luisa Miller), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Rocco / Pizarro (Fidelio), Kaspar (Der Freischütz), König Marke (Tristan), Fasolt / Fafner (Das Rheingold), Hunding (Walküre), Fafner (Siegfried), Hagen (Götterdämmerung), Titurel/Klingsor (Parsifal), Orest (Elektra) and Truffaldino (Ariadne auf Naxos).
